"The owners are investing heavily in the future of Dover and the surrounds with their 2 hotels, a service station and their support of the Dover Town Team"
Hi,
Our daughter has her school prom at the Ramada this june, and we keep hearing rumours recently about it being in financial difficulties? They are due to pay their deposit to the hotel at the begining of april and we just wanted to see if anyone else had heard about this?

Hi haven't herd anything I know the owners brought into the Esso station next door for millions of pounds so don't think Remada would encounter financial problems anytime soon

Thats we thought and hoped, we're just praying this works out as our original venue had been the railway bell as a private function but..

I've heard nothing but good about the owners and even if the Ramada were suffering from recessionary times, the brothers have the Marina Hotel, the petrol station (always busy) and the Holiday Inn at Harbledown to smooth out their results.

I can't believe it either; I was talking to Menon yesterday at the Tourism Conference and he was very positive about the (their) future.
To be honest, I believe that because they have chosen to invest here, with all their quality and various enterprises, threads like this one, shouldn't be made unless there are serious grounds for concern. Spreading rumours can seriously harm a business.

While I agree with you Roger, if I there is a risk of loosing a lot of money and ruining a what is a big occasion I would have asked the question as well............ but maybe not in such bald terms.

Good morning
I have just been made aware of this posting and it is disappointing that rumours get such publicity particularly when the owners are investing heavily in the future of Dover and the surrounds with their 2 hotels, a service station and their support of the Dover Town Team. If Charlotte would like to ring me or my Group GM, Anoob Saban at the BEST WESTERN PLUS Dover Marina Hotel & Spa on 01304 203633 we would be more than happy to address any concern that she may have with her daughters booking

Thanks Trevor - as you rightly say, they are investing heavily in Dover and the surrounding area and this should have been discussed with you or Anoob privately.
Keep up the good work.
Howard, I'll email you privately which hotel it is that is for sale as rumours spread (as we have just seen) like wild-fire.

Yes, welcome, Trevor. I hope Anoob and Menon haven't taken offence, it would be a great shame if the Forum had succeeded in alienating some of Dover's most important supporters.
