Well most certainly the Dover Express this week is highly local and no question. After some criticisms about their coverage in recent weeks there can be no doubting that they are right in the thick of it this week. They have our very own riverwatcher and crocodile wrestler Ian Lillford pictured on the front cover explaining the woeful tale of the River Dour...and very good feature it is too, backed up with an input from Roger Walkden. If anyone can tell the tale of the River..well its Ian. Also featured and pictured are Chris Precious, Jeanette Harper, and Andy Cooper on the theft of the War Memorial funds. Even me ol friends Suzanne Robinson and Charlotte Revel of CMS are pictured given the new screen in Market Sq the thumbsup..and there is good coverage of the Hellfire Corner event and more...so I guess thats really all you can ask from a local paper.

The Dover Express is indeed finding its voice again. And that voice is Dovorian. Let's hope they keep it up.
I don't want to be a party pooper, but let's wait and see if it can be sustained...................

Well someone had to stick their head up, Thank you for your support Roger.
Of course it will go no where at all, The EA have made their statement and turn up in two months, bugger about for a couple of weeks and bugger off again till next year.
More fly tipping, Illegal fishing and all the rest of it. They aint got the man power to look after it and never will have.
The Dour is dooooooooomed. and do you think they give a ****
I shall continue to look after my little bit and the rest can go and *Y)%^$&^%RJ+)
You can make your own minds up about the last bit, ( Bern )

Bugger that mate, I'll still be wearing me waders.
I honestly can't see any one taking notice of the press coverage.
You have to try though.

It was a good front page and high-lighted the problem.
I wrote to the EA the same time as I wrote to the Express - the email address I used was given to me by DDC as the one that the EA reply to - some hopes !
I was a little disappointed that the article continued on page 3 with just Walkden........., not even a Roger, but there you go.
Let's hope it does make a difference.

I've had a letter (email) from the EA today Ian - I'll send you a copy of it.
They are quite proud of what they've achieved for the Dour around the Barton Path area, even mentioned it by name.
They may do remedial work on the odd occasions, but someone from there needs to come back to Dover to see the effect of their work, after a few months.

That's certainly good news Ian.
I had a reply letter from the EA last week (may have been the week before) and replied to it (sending you a copy).
It would have been nice to have got a reply from them that they are doing something, but I guess it is true about "action speaks louder than words".
If you feel they have cleared it out enough Ian, can you email me and I will email them and thank them.
Roger
