I have noticed HGVs using Folkestone Road for the past few nights.
I assume there must be roadworks on the A20 - anyone know about this?

They are replacing the cats eyes along the A20 overnight for a few days.... impressively bright they are too (solar recharged illuminated ones I think)
Been nice knowing you :)

Thanks for the info Paul.
They haven't even finished disrupting the area from the native roadworks - now noise from HGVs all night overnight from an external source! Yippee!

It's certainly less chaotic without the station traffic lights; a lot of money has been spent doing this, hope it looks better at the end of it.
Moving traffic lights, parking bays and steps will not improve the area though; people quite close to the station are still leaving fridges, freezers and other large waste items out for weeks on end.
I have spoken to the appropriate department at DDC - but because it's on private land, they can't do anything - can you believe that ?? it may be true, but it's madness.

You have my sympathy, Brian. People and traffic simply do not mix.
People in the future will shake their heads at this motor dominated insanity in the way that we now cannot believe, say, smoking was allowed on hospital wards or children sent up chimneys and down coal mines.
