Walked along the sea front yesterday and saw the guys digging the drains out from under the new surface and finishing some of the lining - hot work yesterday.
Drove along there after the Dover Joint Transportation Board meeting last night - nice surface, few loose bits coming up under the car but that's to be expected - a number of cars parked both sides of the road and the extra width of the road, due to the lesser angle of the parking bays on the seaward side, makes a difference too. Good it is finished in time for the Easter break.

All potholes delightfully gone on the seafront now Marek.
Ive put several pictures of the roadworks at various stages of procedure on the frontpage...here we are, last shot of the finished product.
They have the layout just perfect this time too. Great stuff!

Nigel says he has no control over the potholes in Jersey but he is reporting every one he finds in Dover. After that it's down to Kent Highways.

Very busy down on the seafront today as you can imagine. Lots of people and lots of cars and all proceeding safely, at least on the seafront. Huge amount of traffic everywhere, earlier in the day especially...which brings me to a sad moment.
Went up this morning to collect my redone and revamped motorcycle from Kent Motorcycles up on the A2 on the way to Canterbury, and there was the most awful and horrendous accident at those traffic lights up there. Air Ambulance, Fire Engines, Police vehicles, ambulances, all at the scene. It shakes you up a bit on such a glorious bank holiday. It looked bad enough for fatalities.
The good weather brings an upsurge in activity and some of it very negative on the roads, even the Lifeboat has been out twice today as I understand it.
Drive Carefully is the message.

Yes Paul, I think it was at the Shepherdswell turnoff. My daughter in laws brother, who is a retained fireman, came up to my place this afternoon and told me that he had attended the scene. Apparently a vehicle carrying milk and vegetables overturned taking the corner. A car ploughed into it, the driver, a lady, and two children had to be cut out. The lady went in the air ambulance and the children and driver of the overturned vehicle were taken to hospital.

Quite right Jan - as we were advised Kent Highways have another type of 'Find & Fix' in operation for potholes - I still report them though - can't let standards drop.
Spent a lot of time on Thursday looking down drains - got 14 blocked ones I'm about to report.
Thanks for the info Alec - just hope that there are no serious injuries.

Keith that's the second time you've posted that comment - sarcasm doesn't become you. You are such a nice person really so why spoil it by that sort of comment
Lovely photo of the seafront Paul, it certainly looks great now - as I saw for myself today - lovely stuff. I think Dover should be rightly proud of our wonderful seafront now, it looks awesome, and well done Nigel and all those responsible

There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

No signs of the lines I was promised 2 years ago nearly in Dickson Road and Avenue Road, the dustbin men can't get into these roads, every week there is a problem.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Being a Councillor John, you should be able/re able to bring it to the attention of the JTB, KCC or DDC - or all three.
I did for around the Maxton area where the recycling truck couldn't get round there for cars parked on the corners, now the trucks and buses can go round there with a lot more ease.
