So just to get this right, Gordon Brown is damned if he does and damned if he doesnt and Little Willy Hague would have been right if the electorate had let him cock everything up.

Explain yourself. If you read my post carefully it might help you understand.

I recommend that you get around to reading Animal Farm and then you might understand.

Have done many years ago, a great warning of the dangers of socialism.
You are still not making sense... but then...

Sorry BarryW I must have got it wrong. It's just that when forumites were talking about what books they'd read last year I thought you said [on 24 September 2008 at 6:26pm to be precise] 'I did read 1984 many years ago though not Animal Farm'.
Anyway, as you've read Animal Farm you'll get the gist if I say four legs good, two legs bad.

I have always got the two mixed up - 1984, I watched the film and read Animal Farm as a child. Some animals are certainly more equal than others.
It is after all just loads of Orwells!!!

this was interesting reading up until post 19 then the barry and sid show kicked off.
anyway, two points that barry raised i would like to take a bit further.
firstly, people do not now trust the blues not to take us into the euro, their pro british rhetoric was exposed as a sham with them supporting the government over overseas workers taking jobs in the uk.
secondly, whilst i agree that the collapse of the euro is against all the ideals of brussels, and that the powers there will do all possible to save the currency, there are too many countries now that are unhappy about not being able to fix exchange rates.
the recession across europe will result in every man for themselves, despite all the talk of no protectionism.

Always seems to be someone else's fault... doesn't it?

Here's a first, I'm sorry BarryW but I'm sorry if my post was a little harsh. I did think you'd got the two books mixed up.
I was making a point, that you seem to see bad with one line and nothing but good in another. Which is fine.
