We used Theresa when she was in the CSC and were delighted with her product.

brian'surprised to read about liberty dining room closing, do not the same people run the cafe in the indoor market?
The recession is biting obviously. What is Dover doing to be ready for the eventual upturn? Anybody know?

Apparantly there was just no business in Snargate Street, hardly anyone stopped along there apart from the anglers for their bait and tackle.
Shame about La Senza too. I tried to get them interested in coming in the Discover Dover leaflet last year and they said they don't need to do any paid advertising, but they would come in it if it was for free.
At the risk of it being classed as sour-grapes/grievance, I wanted to visit all the shops/businesses in Dover to let them know what I was doing and how I was helping move Dover forward and what the 23 areas I was working on, were.
This, for those I did manage to get to talk to, reassured them that moves were a foot to make progress for the Town and businesses and some of them joined up and many were going to, very shortly - not now of course.
You can't join people up to a blank piece of paper.
Now of course, local independant businesses don't have any real support, even chains don't know what's going on so feel Dover is stagnating, or worse, going backwards.
With no publicity whatsoever about Dover Business Support, it will die, or just not get any new members.

I was approached in Dover the other day by a young mother who asked me where she could buy a cowboy outfit for her son's birthday.
I suggested she try the Whitfield Council Offices.........
