This was covered on the Today program this morning. The plan seems to be that ticket offices will close, to be replaced by general staff who will be able to assist with purchasing tickets (presumably from a machine). They won't be sat behind a glass screen type thing. I guess a bit like the departure platform at St Pancras.

Nothing like Neil
It's purely a cost cutting exercise
Stations will become even more less attractive
Usage will go down
Disabled will lose out again

Wrong.
But by the time you've worked out what it is, it will already have happened.

Amidst today's chaos at Dover Priory (coz people on the line at... Grove Park) it's good to know that someone has his eye on the best kept station award.

It is a shame looking at some station tracks where near tree size weeds are growing .

Lower train fares coming? Or perhaps not!

The regulator has proposed lower charges for passenger trains which use the High Speed 1 line from London St Pancras to the Channel Tunnel, and halving charges to freight.

It's not that bad now - the Other Half has just booked a return ticket to Manchester via St Pancras and Euston for £66 with a Senior Railcard. Not as good as Two Together a few years back at £21/head, but still not bad.

This was on tv a few days ago, they will certainly tame the vegetation. I like goats so long as the males are neutered as they can stink.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Can't wait for delays due to 'wrong sort of goats' on the lie.
