Infamy, infamy, they've all got it in for me!
Seriously though it should be a nice day. Last year it pee'd hard. I seem to remember the umbrella of a certain chairperson of a local organisation not a million miles from London Road almost taking the eye out of the Town Sergeant!
I'll take the camera Paul but might not manage anything as I shall be busy.

We have our flag flying. High and proud.
Remembering Zeebrugge, and all those brave people who lost their lives in the service of their country and us, their future.

In Gate28 bar in Sandgate today they have bedecked the place in St George's crosses.
There's also a guitarist playing old mid-20th century English songs, they're selling cockles, whelks, jellied eels, fish and chips and pie 'n mash (with its liquor) over the bar, and to cap it all they're showing the 1966 World Cup Final in its entirety on the telly.
Tremendous effort. Happy St George's Day!

A bit late in the day but happy St George's Day, I am off out to night with a small group of about 20 for Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding. Flags on the table and the rose in the lapel.

Here am I having built a rep from imitating a Texan, using a japanese computer to write this message whilst eating Greek olives, salad etc, wearing clothing probably made in Thai sweatshops.
Yet I am driving a German/Swedish vehicle whilst flying the george cross flag on it which has a little sticker on it saying 'Made in Taiwan'
Still.... Happy St. George's Day to all
Oh Boy!, That'll be the day.........

just a thought on today at the town hall.
could the area around the town hall be cordoned off for an hour or so.?
i found it rather disconcerting during the eulogy and the silence that the irreverent just push past and speak in loud voices into their mobiles.
the dover patrol deserved better than this.

I agree with you Howard, it was disgusting, some that came past you should have known better, I see 2 mobility cars come struggling past you, others that came past might be excused as they do not know our culture, or so it be said, is life so busy that people can't stand still for an hour, they know something is going on, or are they blind

At least the road was taped off. In past years people were barging past the parade. As always it's one or two individuals that have no regard for what the ceremony is all about.
