Yes, sadly. Looks terrible. What was wrong with black?
Now we have black lampposts, black planters and blue bollards.

I saw the blue and assumed it was an undercoat.

We're making a much better job than you ever could.
Anyway, this isn't a political thread and my comment was tongue in cheek as was obvious.

Why did anything need to be painted blue Ross?
The black is much smarter and more tasteful. The black and gold planters are lovely.

i think we all preferred the black and gold but anything getting a coat of paint has to be applauded in these cash straitened times.

Yes, Howard, but it could have been black paint.
Whose bright idea was it to use that ghastly blue paint?

Blue was chosen to distinguish Dover from so many other towns that all go for black. This is part of the DTC 2012 and beyond preparations because, while bunting is all very well, we want to do things that will last longer than the Olympics to help brighten the town and make it a more attractive proposition. We thank the town team, and others, for their support and would love more people and businesses to get involved in cleaning up our town.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

Dreadful. Please don't paint anything else blue!
