An epic dirge may be in order when the tumult is at it's height.
I wonder if the convicted 'terrorist' will be allowed into the country for the Ascension?

[The mobs of Hades are in ferment
(where the one-eyed lead the blind)
a fresh arrival has her own trident
(but not the one she had in mind)]
The knees of Pluto weaken
when he gets the awful news
his very primacy's in question
his detractors form in queues
"We have come not to follow
We're predestined to prevail."
(her words echo in the hollow
as the mob she does regale)
"Our advent was long certain
I have sent many to presage
'tis rent in twain, the curtain
a new leader's centre stage"
"Fear not, not much shall alter
you shall toil-on the same
yet face worse again who falter
I know well your little game"
"Ye shall follow on to greatness
and redouble efforts to succeed
stoke-up to fuel the fiery furnace
as new victories within We breed"
"We will break out upon the living
banish hope in they who be
Will you join Us Ronnie darling?
I promise ice-cream again for tea."

There was once a lady from Grantham
who climbed to the top of the tree
the world's problems better to fathom
Oh, how more wrong could she be
Of our Hilda there are several stories
of embarrassments and a few glories
of the many jokes that she knew
she stuck to the Blue
And so became leader of the Tories
There are many the news will have saddened
and some no doubt too who are gladdened
well, what's done is done
and now her sand's run
with no money for Pomp some'll be maddened.

Maggie was a bit like Marmite, inasmuch as you either hated her or loved her.
I have my view and obviously many others have theirs.

I have to say that Polly Evans' black dress and John Young's black tie were a bit OTT.

The Times today has 27 pages of comment, a 16 page supplement and a 6 page obituary. I expect that the ginger bloke is being kept for the funeral Howard.

It's called "Respect", something that is sorely missing, not just from this forum, but from society generally.

Well said Paul. Ironic that George [CATastrophe] Galloway heads a party of that name but is incapable of showing any.

Come off it Paul, Huw Edwards on the 10 o'clock news was very respectful without resorting to somber clothing. The South East news was simply tacky.
I haven't said anything about Margaret Thatcher at all, just commenting about how OTT it has become.

Terry, what's OTT about presenters wearing dark clothing on the publicly funded broadcasting service? I think it shows respect, but obviously I'm outdated in that opinion...

Agreed Paul.
