  Just to let you know that the Kent Bakery in London Road formerly Lawrences has been shut by the council,the notice on the door tells you why.
  1.No running water
  2.It is in a disgusting state.
  3.They have not been able to sort out the vermin problem.
  So if you have any bread on order you will have to go somewhere else,Glad I use Vanes.
  If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

  John I was in there the other day got a loaf took it home and put it in the bin ,and said to the wife we will not get anymore from there,I did eat the cake but I WISH I HAD NOT.

  Thinking about it,I came home and said to the wife the place is not clean,I think they must be closing down,it was always a very good place to go to, but the the last few weeks they did not have the cakes we liked etc,well we know now why.

  they must have changed owners recently, always looked clean and wholesome to me, the products were fairly basic(nothing too fancy), but cretainly fresh.

  Let`s shut Gaol Lane next. Took this at 11 this morning. One end, the museum and tv screen, the other end this. What a contrast, and below is not a one off!!! All summer rubbish has been dumped there. It`ll be their till after the hols now.

  someone else posted on that subject last year colin.
  
  sad to see that the problem has not been addressed, i seem to remember that "siberian hamsters" had been seen dining alfresco in that area.
  
  surely the local councillor for the area should take the matter up?

  Yes I have just looked up on my old press cutings and i did take this up some time ago and I got some big bins which lock up at the back of the museum,I still have the photos of the mess then,looking at it now it just looks like a one off but it would be nice if it was picked up.

  I also mentioned this in a post a few months ago. This alley way has been like this for years it is not a one off. I used to walk down there every day on the way to my work in the Western Docks and most days there were torn black bags littering the end of the alley.

  Can't imagine people would walk too far to put the bag down, so it must be from one of the flats above those retail outlets (they'd have their own commercial bins).
