...performed at the bandstand in Deal on Sunday.

I was there with Paula, the place was packed and what a great afternoon it was.

Their first number (after the National Anthem) was the new 'Wooton Basset March' that was debued only 2 weeks ago and they ended with all the old favourites, including Hearts of Oak, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory.

Sue was there laying a wreath in one of her big hats. Charlie was there also.

They will be back again next year keeping alive, in this way, links between the Royal Marines and Deal.

Then today the hardworking band are in Basle performing at a Tatoo.

I noticed one or two Afghanistan medals among the bandsmen, the bandsmen are not just for show.
