  'tis true, that two sections of the second volume;The Battle of Waterloo and the journey through the sewers of Paris can be omitted without adversely affecting the tale, as the introduction will tell you, but this story will take the reader to the stars and into the very essence of human-ness and as far away from boring sport as you can ever wish to be.

  Having read the book (including the Waterloo bit) I was truly shocked that it should be turned in a musical! What next "Holocaust - Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber".

  You have a point there Terry. Many folk I inform of the greatness of the book take it that the whole book must be like the musical...the prison escape, the nunnery etc. etc. and more tight squeezes than Batman. I must try the Hunchback of Notre-Dame. Hugo was a fantastic story-teller.
