  In response to Vic's post. Viewers may be well aware of this postcard - probably from the early '70s - of Seaspeed's Princess Anne and Princess Margaret at the Eastern Docks hoverport which commenced service in Aug 1968. Operations moved then to the Western Hoverport in, I think, 1978.

  Interesting to note on that picture how far the pad is from where the sea is now, the amount of reclaim is incredible, how did they manage it without being privatised
