With the greatest respect over the many years that I have been posting on the DF it soon became obvious, rightly or wrongly, that sometimes Vics love of the limelight and the camera outweighed his better judgement. He became the subject of ridicule but I won't repeat the threads here and rather than him become the figure of fun as he has done in the past I thought that maybe a time for reflection was called for.And as this is a 'club' I felt it would be appropriate to raise the issue here.Sometimes one has to be cruel to be kind.Vic didn't think twice about reminding me that as I no longer lived in Dover that I should therefore remain quiet on local issues. I took that in good faith and humour and ignored it and I'm sure Vic will probably do the same with my advice.

Finally there are many unsung heroes in Dover who's efforts for the town are not widely reported but they just get on with it..quietly.

As for Vic coming to Jersey nothing would give me greater pleasure than to pick him and his wife up at the air or seaport upon arrival.
