Whilst some of your views may be correct with regard to national politicians, our present MP is often seen around Dover District throughout the 4 or 5 years.
Locally I believe it is very hard to get people to stand for councils as it is very time consuming if done correctly.
but the short 25 years i did the role I made myself available and hoped to have the support of most of the people from most walks of life.
Roger has shown as has SheilA putting yourself around does make a diffrence.
There are others to many to name.
But as COLIN and BRIAN states apathy at the moment is the real winner, voting numbers keeps reducing, the MP saga hasn't helped us all in general,
until and unless MP's grasp the nettle of there wrong doing, democracy will continue to go downhill
