19:1830148Just to let you all know Dover won 2-0 and welling missed a penalty towards the end! good crowd 1,100 which will keep the coffers coming in and a cheque for winning today.
first half very even, second half once Dover scored it was more one way, although welling did have some chances.
onwards and upwards

09:3030172Sue it was only for 3hours and there was still room to park along the road ,I know that ,I walk back from the match and was looking out for that, the Bus could get round ,you are making alot out of nothing. You did not need the police there or the cones.

10:0030175aND I TO walked around the area and dont forget the rugby club were playing at home as well.
We should encourage such events, is it a good use of police time, i didnt see the need traffic flowed, might of been more of it, but when clubs do well surely thats what happens, and shouldnt we encourage maximum support?

10:1030179Respectfully to both of you .The corners were obstructed and the bus stops were parked on .It might be only for three hours but action should be taken .You were bioth so full of the football results wearing rose tinted specs .. but If an emergency vehcicle had been needed in the Lyndhurst area it would have struggled to get through .I was on the bus and i saw how difficult it was .It was fortunate that a few wing mirrors were niot ripped off
Im only asking that the corners and bus stops are kept clear .
Park and ride is the answer. Many River people donot venture out during a match .
Yes its ok down here in Sanctuary Close but having lived in the Crabble Are for a good nunber of years I know the problems ..
Keith states the rugby was on at the same time well you dont have to be a genius to see the problem .Did you walk down Crabble Avenue Vic ??

10:5030186Yes, space should be available for emergency vehicles - not just during matches but in the rest of Dover as well, which sometimes does not happen. But, honestly, was it necessary to take the shine off a decent local achievement fot this point scoring?

13:3330189Bern ,
That was not point scoring .The facilities at Crabble Athletic Ground and the foorball club are superb .I wish you would not keep judging me it is obvious
you are from a strictly political background .
My representations are for all those people whom i represent and if a statement was made to say the roads were jammed That is the right of the local councillor who lives and works in the ward .Its no good screaming after the event
Were you at the football cheering Dover on ?.When there is a tragedy fingers will point to the local counciland reps

13:5430194I think you are absolutely right to raise it, and road safety matters greatly. But I think raising it here, now, on top of a bit of positivity about Dover was an error of judgement and unkind.

15:3530197true bern,im sure that the police have better things to deal with in the district like crime etc.im allso sure some pscos or part time coppers could be drafted in to cover for the 3 hours or so.

16:1530200I would just like to add Sue you have said nothing about all the road works in River that has stoped alot of parking for about a year now,and the part by the shops where they are useing the road as a store been there over ayear now,the football again 3hours,and if the road works had got done on time there would be more room to park.

20:2430212Have emailed KHS today re the workers compound at the top of Sanctuary Close ,however the football supporters would not park there they prefer to be close to the ground .I think I have asked for trhis compound to be kept tidy every other week but now the work is more or less complete in River time it was moved ,. The big screen soon went after i reported it .

This has been ongoing for some time did suggest some time ago to you SUE that you meet up with council officials and the football/rugby clubs.
Both clubs with my dealings with them work in the community, for the community, and im sure would want to help.
BERN
You are correct it was a positive posting on the delights of Dover doing well in something, with this comes problems like parking, but no diffrent close to any other footy ground, but highways are to b used.
The buses dont have any problems(and i use them) might take longer to get round every other saturday for 3 hours
but hey, come on, its a positive for Dover, well supported club, good facilities, nice ground.
So sue have you set up this meeting with the clubs concerned?

22:0630224Yes Sue you done well with the T.V.and the bus stop mess, and thank you for doing that, but I think you should not keep going on about the football and the parking .there are public from River that also go to the match in their cars,I must say I am not one of them I walk or get on the bus.

22:2730225The following is a statement in this weeks match day programme at the football.
CAR PARKING ON MATCHDAYS
I would like to remind all supporters that Steward controlled car parking is available around the Rugby ground on match days.
If you are unable to park in this area i ask that you show cnsideration for our neighbours when parking on the roadside.
Please be sure not to obstruct any entrances or exits and be carefull not to park on yellow lines or obstuct bus stops.
Many thanks for your cooperation in this matter.
Jim Parmenter, Chairman.

22:3530226Thank you Paul for posting that .Not all in vain after all .Thats all i rea;lly wanted a little thought and cooperation .I shall make a point of writing to the Chairman .
I think this was the first week that message was printed .I dont have aproblem if they park further down the road just not on corners and at bus stops .
12 October 2009
06:3430228So, with a bit of conversation and co-operation a result. I still think, Sue, that your decision to bring down a positive item about Dover was an error of judgement and inappropriate.
