    It is positively grim to envisage services being cut here in Dover as we are not exactly a hotbed of buoyancy and affluence. Although there isnt any detail in the statement above as what will be cut where...we are all waiting for the chopper to fall from central government...these cuts are a grim prospect in waiting.

    No doubt the amalgamation of overheads with the coming together of the four councils and the landlord service should save money anyway...but clearly wont save us from cuts as read above. I dont know though if this merging of councils is a popular move outside of the immediate councils....clearly mergers of any kind equate to job losses.
