Here we go again, yet another attempt at a slagging off Dover thread. What a refreshing change.

Keith's not slagging off Dover. He's telling it how it is. We need to keep drumming this point home. No point walking around in rose-tinted spectacles when the only thing we can see through them is garbage.

No, that's not the point I'm making Andy - I'm sure Keith has a point. It's just that there are so many threads on the state of Dover or complaining about this and that body/investment/DDC/DTC/CoC/DoverPride ec, do we really need yet another one? I'm only referring to the contents of the forum, not the state of the town.

phil.if all the people you have mentiond got off there arses and stated to regenerate the town no one would complain or run dover at the drop off a pin,now would they.action speaks louder than words,at the moment its all words.

And thats all im saying, I'm sad Dover has got where it is today, I take pride in my town.
What we have to do is recognise other towns welcome business, and whilst it was nice to meet collett etc in Dover whilst shopping, as i said when i popped over Folkestone the next day Folkestone was full with people.
So where is Dover going wrong?

Must say I did enjoy shopping in Dover on Saturday and it is always a pleasure to pass the time of day with people you know. I got all the bits and bobs and pressies I needed for Marek's do, popped into M&S and discovered they had 25% off bra's
Then popped into Boots and finally enjoyed a coffee and a shared slice of banoffee pie (weight conscious) with JanT, only spoilt by the view I had down Castle Street of the awful dilapidated Snoops building.
Ah! if only we could get this lovely town of ours cleaned up once and for all. However, in my opinion one has to either live in it, work in it, shop in it and/or be born in it to really care

25% off Bra's then popped into boots Colette,is it me or is there a funny line there, perhaps you should have used the boots!
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Brian - sadly it is not all down to our local representatives. They are at the mercy of quangoes and lawyers to get things done and these people do not have electorates to face and do not have any direct interests in Dover. Make no mistake local politicians will be even more frustrated as they would want to get the credit for progress and this delay is as frustrating to them as it is for all of us. I know Paul Watkins well enough to know he is on top of the situation, cajoling, persuading and when necessary knocking heads together whenever possible.
