Having set the series in Dover it would have been nice to see some more of the exteriors shot in the town. The Town Hall, Pencester Gardens and parts of Biggin Street (without closed shops) could have been used if well shot. In the short scene outside a pub why not use a Dover pub, we do have a few left? It would certainly help us attract visitors if the sites seen were actually here to find.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

people who watched it told me that some great panoramic views of the natural attractions gave a good image of our town.
i think that we benefitted from not too many shots of our town centre.

Ah, I missed this completely, as they say, all publicity is good publicity, so there must be a benefit to Auld Dover town in some shape or form, I think

Sadly this TV show is very disappointing. Its cheaply made to a woeful degree and apart from a few standard shots, including stock aerial shots, it is clearly filmed in London. Its not going to be an Emmerdale, a show which boosts tourism where its set in the dales to the nth degree. But the few standard shots on show, probably shot in a day and a half, are very welcome. Cullins Yard was featured today with the yacht harbour backdrop...so that bit was good to see. Its nice in Cullins Yard very pleasant...so I hope Pauline Quirk, who throughout the episode had the rather po-face of a woman suffering wicked constipation, enjoyed her time there.

Any publicity is good, there were stunning shots of the Cliffs and Harbour, yes the rest is obviously not Dover, but people will see the things that they show and say that looks nice, perhaps we should whip down there for a day or two.
The show is disappointing but many will watch it and we can expect people coming in,which reminds me the White Cliffs Greeters are launched in 2 weeks, people that spend thier own time welcoming people to the Town as a friendly face.

If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

I made a point of watching this today, on my St patrick's self-imposed national holiday

I loved seeing all the familiar places and views of Dover. Poor Pauline seemed to be freezing in most of the outdoor shots whilst taking in the Dover sea breeze.

I thought I'd give it another go tonight. What a waste of time? Rubbish plotlines and total charactertures. We've all said that police don't act like that and the radio chap is beyond belief.
Twice bitten I'm afraid, I won't catch it again.

ps JHG, Re the greeters, what happened to Ray Tiltman?
