I agree with Rick in that we seem to be in a dictatorial Europe rather than a Diplomatic Europe. My father a WWII Lancaster crewmember gave his life like so many others for our freedom that we shall be remembering today.
Labour failed with its manifesto promise of a referendum and reflects the current dictatorial situation in this country-- any wonder why Gordon and his team were only too pleased to join up with the Bully Boys of Europe.
Having said this it is becoming evident that none of the major parties are listening to the public and this will only strengthen the minor parties share of the vote at the next election.
The real issues are to get this country back on its feet. Yes irrespective who gets in next time there will be huge tax increases to get our horific debt burden down but none of the major parties seem to be prepared on the issues that are of concern viz Social Payments out of control, Immigration uncontrolled (and now likely to be worse if controlled from Bruxelles).
Our postal mess is due to EU policy and as we fail to control our destininy things will get worse.
We are all wanting the hospital for Dover (£20m or so) and yet we paid child benefits to EU residents working here but families in their own country. Last year this amounted to 50586 claims. Poland was 37,941 at a cost of £24m
It is this type of drain on our economy that needs to stop and concentrate on "charity begins at home" and will not be achieved by control from the EU
