Bit of a shame Chris Precious had his hair cut. He'd have looked good in a frock as Rapunzel?

Community meeting to focus on Dover town centre
Dover residents are being invited to a community meeting focusing on Dover Town Centre, being held at the Dover Town Council offices, Maison Dieu House on Wednesday 22 February from 6pm.

Remembering the other mess. When Councillor Keith Sansum could not sort out whether he was in the Town Hall or the Town Council.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a poster on this thread, giving out a meeting in the Town Hall. Exactly the same time and date as the above.
Which is which? yet again.

They say that some people in affluent Sandwich look down on the rest of the district.
Here's your chance to join them!

I understand the. Community feeling raising money for Kelly Turner however let us not forget the other good causes.I have just bought some raffle tickets for the air ambulance and already pay a direct debit to them each month.I recently donated to Demelza House .I visited Demelza House a few years ago wonderful work and support for the families of the children there. I'm sure the money will be forth coming and the target met.

Had a look around the boot fair today as mentioned in post 173.I was surprised how many stalls were there and lots of people too.Hope its a success and doesnt lose the stallholders once Tilmanstone starts up again as many of the smaller events often do.I didnt find out if this is a weekly thing but its well worth a look.

I have read it will be monthly. I suspect it will slowly die like the Charlton Centre one and the one up Tower Hamlets area all those years ago.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

I have read on face book the chairman closed down the questions twenty minutes before meeting ended.A reason not to attend on a cold night. Not a sensible move as public will want their questions answered.I think the problem is public money is being used.I learnt many years ago you have to let the public air theirviews .

If you had been there Sue, you would know the the meeting was chaired very well by Pam who is an experianced Chair, and within the time slots shown on the agenda which was displayed on the screen.

I understand the meeting closed before time.in my experience if someone wants to make a statement it's easier to let them speak and they will.leave happier.I have attended these Neighbour hood meetings and found they were too stage managed.I went with the late Bryan Cope once and between us the public left very happy .We did not stick to red tape.
