But why should two smartly dressed pensioners who I saw in there the other morning ordering two breakfasts, a coffee and a beer for the old man(with the vouchers) suffer higher prices just because a few mindless morons are unable to hold their liquor.
It really *isses me off the the silent majority have to forego these sort of promotions because of a noisy drunken minority.

19:026344Ah Jeez Dave theyre only giving us a few bargains with vouchers that are quickly used up. Its not armageddon! I just read an interesting piece in the Mercury that there is a wine festival on there at the moment where you can enjoy some fascinating wines at a fair price. Havent been but it sounds interesting, so as Marek points out there, its not all bad.

18:046487Yum, wine festival, now that's my kind of event, never mind the beer festivals that my hubby likes to frequent each year (I like to let him out occasionally it lets him know I care). I'll have to have a look in and see what it's like.

19:546493i think that the beer festival starts at the end of october.
incidentally, i noticed today that they had a handwritten sign outside displaying equivalent prices from their main rivals establishments.
the first column read "firkin" the second column read "elle".
if one looked quickly, it could have been misread!!
all this opposite st mary's church.

20:486499I suspect that was deliberate, cathching the eye and making you look twice, good ploy eh!
Actually the beer festival I was referring to is held in February.

21:046501It is part of their marketing strategy Howard but has not been without its problems. The product has to be the same saying Scotch or Vodka is not good enough, the brand must be the same. The measure served must also be the same.
Pimms seems to be a popular drink on this website, although heaven knows why, that presumably is also sold cheaply but what is the ratio of Pimms to lemonade and is it served with all the bits and pieces.
As a matter of interest a pub I had in Maidstone was cheaper by 60p for a spirit and mixer Wetherspoons appear to make up the price with their charges for the mixer.

21:536505if it is as you say dave, you have to take your hat off to them.
i am one of those people who looks sideways all the time to make sure that i do not miss a poster or ad in a window.
does not work so well if one is driving on a motorway though.
