Strolling along the promenade this morning with the camera, I took a few shots with the nice sunshine. Didn`t want to put on anymore repetitive pictures of the seafront, but I did stand for 10 minutes or more watching two lots of air bubbles and foam coming up through the high tide. At this point, it`s all beach, so nothing obvious, and I do know that air can percolate up from the bedrock below. Has anyone else ever noticed it?

Thanks Keith. Although looking forward to the Spring, it`s nice to see your ladybird back on here as the Summer won`t be far either.

Colin it is not that there is a pipe line taking it out tosea, and I
know that "YES" I was welding on it for Millers some years ago.

Looks similar to the "Bubbles" in the Wellington Dock, where the freshwater from the Dour rises up through the salt water. Seeing that the Dour is currently in full flood, could it be the East Dour as per the thread below?
Seems too far westward along the beach but maybe it is finding an alternative channel through the shingle beneath the Gateway flats?

Building works going on down the above area yesterday, and a chap told me that a very large hole appeared here last year, so it was filled in and covered over. Apparently, this hole has emerged again but even larger than before. Any more info on this one?

Actually Sid, I did take another picture today, this time of the river at the end of the subway. It`s completed now, but the other day, there were a group of workmen there having their lunch.
This picture shows what replaced those awful steel railings constantly piled up with rubbish from up river. An eyesore now removed we hope.

The rubbish will still be caught there and will look unsightly until it is taken off of those railings. They do look nice and clean at the moment.

Surely that is the idea of it, there are access steps that the old grill didn't have.?
Not surprised it is that bad after the last few days of downpours....
Been nice knowing you :)

Quite right Paul, but needs cleaning out regularly. I used to see footballs in the other set up for days. Just becomes another eyesore.
