  I went up there lunchtime but my back is so painful, I couldn't walk very far and had to leave. I walked carefully to the top of the Grandshaft (not up it) and then back to the car. I couldn't bend down enough to get through the tunnel into then Drop Redoubt, so wasn't able to buy Phil's book.
  
  The weather was O.K. and certainly not cold; didn't see many people though - they were probably in the Drop Redoubt area, where I couldn't go.

  We are in the same boat Mr Walkden your back my legs .
  We do not go to anymore events where there is a lot of walking .
  But I hope the public turnout is good funding is always needed to keep the work going even be the workers do not get paid and a big well done to them to.

  I'm hoping my back-pain is temporary, but it is very painful while I have it (about a week or so, so far).

  They all think that when you are a Cllr but as a small parish Cllr it costs money at times.
  So it must cost cllrs who are on bigger councils more but your grant is a lot more then we get but that is not wrong you go to a lot more meetings then I do,
  My last year so it does not matter anymore.But going back to the heading the weather looks better for it today so lets hope they get a very good turnout.

  Roger, one of our sons and our son-in-law are both chiropractors. They have both found that a huge amount of back pain can be avoided by not carrying your wallet in your back pocket. Every time you sit down with something in your back pocket, while it may not be painful at the time, it puts your whole pelvis out of alignment, it is this which causes the chronic pain. So keep it somewhere else for a while and see if it does any good. It worked for me. And make sure you sit up straight at the computer. Hunching over it also causes back pain.

  Thanks Peter. I fully agree with what you say about the back-pocket and putting your pelvis out of alignment, it could be a combination of a number of things.
  
  I don't usually put it in my back pocket, it's usually in my little black "man-bag". In reality, it's not a big fat wallet either.
