But is Brown man enough to do so?
Brown must know who is or is not a member after all, or perhaps it was yet another of his famous slips of the tongue. The truth though has always been an elusive concept for Brown.
He claimed that Spain was in the G20. It is not in the G20, there are 19 countries in the G20 (including the UK, France, Germany) plus the EU via the rotating Presidency (pre-Lisbon).

DC was making the point that the UK is the only member of the G20 still in recession having been among the first in. Spain, (which is one of the few countries in the world still in recession with the UK), Brown claimed as a G20 member in a rather weak defence. All G20 countries are out of recession except the UK.
