  No I've not been conditioned ( I hope) maybe a Stepford husband..., but as a left winger, I was originally agin the idea of joining the EEC but after the democratic vote I had to accept the majority decision.I suppose that's what democracy is all about. It's about time the UK became more involved and played a bigger role in the decision making rather than letting the Germans and French ride roughshod over us as Britain dithers on the sidelines.

  Brian, don't you have to run if someone else is dashing for post 14 ? I thought the rules of rounders (baseball for our soft chums across the pond) were well known to all from an early age?

  Marek, as you can see, as Howard pointed out, there were nine countries in the Common Market, not 27! Of-course there was a trade difference between then and now!
