I will be able to add more detail to this when the agenda info comes through. in the meantime it may be worth making a note of it in your diary as some of these NF meetings are very informative.

Almost 4 hours and Howie hasn't gone for the NF = National Front line yet? So disappointing, I worry he may be losing his incisiveness on the humour front!

As an ex chair of this board, I have stated on here, this board can be a good thing if;
1; PEOPLE ATTEND
2; K.C.C. TRULY BELIEVES IN GIVING IT FREEDOM TO MAKE LOCAL CHOICES BOTH IN FINANCIAL TERMS AND
DECISION MAKING
3; RIGHT SUBJECTS PUT UP FOR DISCUSSION
So lets give it chance

AH ! MW ..alas thats the release info as it arrived with me Ive no further knowledge other than that, but as these meetings always take place on a wednesday it must be the wednesday..ermm whatever date that is.
Im afraid they have a habit of sending out info thats not accurate, only last year we were debating the list of councillors they used to attach to the mailings, many no longer councillors.
But the meetings are good. I havent been to them all, have been to some and they are informative and interesting. And of course we normally amble to the Park Inn afterwards by way of light refreshment.

well didnt see many of you there tonight and thats a great shame.
These boards can be a true voice for Dover but you have to support them/
Tonight Yvonne holder outlined all the good work being done with the youth in Dover as did Bill butler
There is a lot of positive stuff going on to engage the youth.
Recent teenage events have taken place and well attended and buses to the event being put on by parish councils
We all moan at times about the youth, but tonight showed the other side of lots of positive action, many being run by the youth for the youth.
Discovery centre youth cafe just one of many ideas coing forward and in place.
Its a shame you couldn't all attend,
Its a case of use or lose it, Its in your hands!!!

most see these as talking shops that cost money, and do nothing.
usually these seminars are full of middle aged people telling the "yoof" what they need.

Pity ou didn't get down there howard, yoiu could have seen and heard a lot of what the youth THEMSELVES are doing in a very positive light.
A lot of good work has taken place.
I won't be party to a talking shop, this is a information gathering event, there were things happening put on by the youth which I was unaware of,
And from this meeting lot of helpful information was given out, which would otherwise have been unknown.
We can all say, its a talking shop and do nothing, or we can turn up and make it happen,
its realy in our hands.
I was sorry to miss it - genuinely! I was held up at work in London and too late home to attend. You are right - use it or lose it - and I have to say I think there is a lot of bad press about young people - my experience is that most are charming and hard working, but just need to be allowed to be so!! A bit of encouragement goes a long way. I was inded sorry to miss it, but will try to make the next one. It is something about which I feel strongly.
