News from .... THE MARLOWE THEATRE

Make your voice heard and meet the Marlowe panto stars

YOUNG people across Kent are being given the chance to take part in an exciting new project as Canterbury City Council and the Marlowe Theatre launch the theatre's very own action group.
Twelve young people will be invited to take part in the pilot scheme which gives youngsters the chance to have their say on the theatre and tell the council what they want from the venue. As well as voicing their opinions, the group will also have the chance to meet the actors from this year's pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. They include EastEnder's Emma Barton and TV presenter Stephen Mulhern. They will also be able to meet the creative team from Evolution Productions, the company that makes the Marlowe's pantomime.

Alongside talking to theatre staff and actors, the action group will be given the opportunity to review shows and have their work put on the group's website.

The scheme is a great opportunity for young people to have their say and see the range of jobs available in the industry, as well as getting to see great shows for free. You do not need to have any previous experience in theatre.

If you are aged between 10 and 18 and are available on Wednesday evenings, usually for a couple of hours, please contact Nicky Gould before Friday 14th November on 01227 862125 or at nicky.gould@canterbury.gov.uk
