13:2830524As everyone has computers on here, is everyone aware of youtube? There are many articles on here regarding Dover, as well as the other Dover`s in the U.S. youtube is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and almost anything about anything can be viewed on there. If you want to see the Shakespeare beach/Marine station area in 1950, with the houses etc, just type in southern steam days at dover. There`s parts 1 & 2 for you to savour, and you don`t have to be a railway enthusiast. It`s pure Dover. Maybe someone may recognise a face on Peggy`s crossing as a special goes past conveying President Auriol of France to London on 7 March 1950. You can put Dover or anything on youtube free for the whole world to see!!! Enjoy.

18:0530554Nice piece of HMS Bulwark Phil. Was that this year? Also, yes, there is alot of rubbish on youtube, and alot of the lower mentality, but if you go straight for a particular item you`re after, great. Not only have I found music tracks I`ve been after for years, but also got the original artist in most cases performing it.

18:2130565Thanks Kieth. I often wish there were as many ship enthusiasts as railway one`s in the past. I`d like to see old film of the Dover ferries in the 50s and 60s. Maid of Kent, Lord Warden, Shepperton/Hampton ferries etc.

18:2830568I`ve got the book by Professor Paul Davies here Kieth, How to Build a Time Machine, and very interesting too. Can`t get my head round the physics, but that`s our only hope at the moment.

18:3430570To start with, all you need is a collider, an imploder, an inflator and a differentiator, (plus a loan from the Universal bank).

07:2730595Rick (Jones) created a "Time-Machine" on the old Doverweb - an amazing trip back to old Dover.
Very clever and very interesting too.

18:5830672Paul, those graphics are absolutley stunning. I`ve gone over them a few times. Perhaps the nearest we`ll ever get to a time machine. Excellent.

08:4330731Yes lots of videos on Youtube about Dover, including those submitted by Forumites. I myself posted this one on the sad day of the fire at the old United Reform Church in 2007.

I know someone also submitted some dramatic video of the storm and flood we had earlier the same year. Think it might have been Phil Eyden - perhaps Phil can confirm?

09:2430733Yes, that was mine Claire. Mostly filmed outside the Louis Armstrong though it bore of a resemblance to Venice than Maison Dieu Road at the time.
I've made a few little Dover vids over the years and put them all in my Youtube Channel':

20:4530801That`s a nice film Frontline Dover Phil. Taped that off the BBC in the 80s. Haven`t seen it for years. I`ll have a look at the rest tomorrow.
