If you actually want to DO something about the homeless why not set up a standing order ?
https://www.connection-at-stmartins.org.uk/donate/ I did (years ago).

David are you on some kind of medication that is making you so unnecessarily rude to people since you have rejoined this forum?

Nah, perfectly healthy thanks Jan, just sick and tired of cowardly, backstabbing hypocrites.
Funny thing is when McSweeney had a legal run in with a parliamentary candidate most assumed it was me, it wasn't. What does that tell you?

I know enough about your reputation as well as Howard's and neither of you are exactly popular with many even though I have had no problem with either of you in the past............ until now which is a shame.
Time to grow up maybe and stop behaving like bickering children.

A de-weaseled version of post 5 could have been: 'to ask Mr McSweeney if he will list his engagements for the day and if they include doing more than just walking around the town taking photos whilst people aren't looking'. Just an observation!

Well at least there's one local priest who is actually doing something
http://www.kentonline.co.uk/thanet/news/priest-sells-car-to-feed-115947/
(The only trouble is next year he will STILL have 90 homeless to fed and will have been without a car for a year. What a shame he happens to be living at the one time in the one society when there is not an inexorable rise in living standards for everyone, everywhere all the time and life is totally 'fair' as has happened so often historically?)

Many of the existing properties were allowed to be converted into minuscule homes not big enough for families who have adult children, as a result these youngsters find themselves homeless with no funds for the large deposits often demanded even if they manage to find somewhere.
The thousands of foreigners that flooded into the UK with the EU's open door policy, had to be housed but there has been no real increase in suitable new properties to cover their needs so little wonder there are more homeless.

It's quite a shame that a serious subject can get distracted a usual by a Little person just making up stories and he knows there is no truth in them.
Sad but expected

The situation we are left with is that grotty hotels and guest houses that cannot attract people have a cash cow from the homeless being housed by their local council. The situation can only get worse when Universal Credit is fully rolled out with many landlords refusing to rent out property to those collecting it. Our Council Tax will rise to pay for it.

I dont know if this is true but i,ve heard that rents are no longer payed to landlords and it is all payed to the benefit claiment so its up to them to sort their rents. Some unfortunatly dont and lose their home.Anyone know if this is correct?

It is with Universal credit, But with some exceptions for particularly vulnerable.
