I see so it all boils down to this, we have to provide all this money so a few people can take a pretty picture of the mayor shaking hands or some other duty.
Using the same logic the Queen should always wear her crown and/or full ceremonial robes whenever she attends an investiture, an official hand shaking outing or other duty.
Therefore dressing up in a silly outfit makes no difference to the average person they still click away quite happily.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Everyone knows who the Queen and most of her family look like, only a select few would recognise Sue Jones or Neil Rix without their regalia.

Hire of the Hall did that include food.I think the DTC get some free hires.DDC do not have a ceremony anymore so the saving of Three thousand or more goes to the cost of a car.Plus no cost of robes

Getting back to the cost of having a Mayor the current budget shows £.11,400 including £.300 for the Chauffer's uniform which doesn't come across as a lot in the general scheme of things. Additionally as DTC run two cars we don't know how much the Mayor's one costs.
