He surely knows that he is offending people so why does he do it?
A district councillor is facing a storm of controversy over allegedly racist comments - after he referred to Muslims as "sons of camel drivers" on Twitter.
Deal town and district councillor Bob Frost also made a reference to "frogs" on the social media website.
It is the latest in a string of race controversies Cllr Frost has faced.
.....He has previously been criticised for referring to Muslims as 'ragheads' on Facebook, while during the London riots in 2011 he was suspended from the Conservative party for using the term 'jungle bunny.'

bit of a storm in an eggcup, bob is naturally controversial but i don't thing he has crossed any line here.
terms like frogs, ragheads and i might add krauts and waps are used every day on social media and in real life.

Chrissi, only UKIP are racist, I told you that before
Can you imagine the fuss if I'd said what Cllr Frost has?

I didn't see a reference to Muslims except in other peoples' reactions, none of which were from Muslims. Why must people always get offended on behalf of others?

the reference applied to middle easterners as i read it not specifically muslims. i was regularly referred to as an infidel before i moved here, didn't bother me.
if people want to see racism they could take a trip over to northern france where the national front have gained control of many councils. ms le pen has decreed that all school pupils ahould eat pork if it is on the menu regardless of their religion.

Chrissi, there are three possible reasons I can think of.
The man is a complete idiot despite being an educated man, or he simply likes to see how much mischief he can create, or he likes the publicity his stupid comments generate. Whatever the reason might be he must be a complete embarrassment to his party.

He likes to wind up the PC thought police.
Guilty of crimethink, he obviously needs to brush up his Newspeak.

Peter, as a School teacher and a councillor the man is clearly a fool. That doesn't make him racist but his judgement is clearly flawed.
What point is he trying to make in repeatedly using language that, rightly or wrongly, offends some. As an elected representative and schoolmaster he has a duty to behave responsibly, not like a drunk in the 8 bells. This is not a private conversation, it's for public consumption.
I stick by my original post, if Godfrey bloom had done the same it would be 9 o'clock news with the Tories waving arms and squealing.

Knowing Bob, he is as Peter suggests winding up the thought police & those bleeding hearts who take offence on behalf of others...nothing he has said has crossed the legal line or the report would have been about his arrest by those fine boys in blue

Better Bob Frost speak than PC speak. Yes he does like to wind up the pc brigade, I do too. Better 100 Bob Frosts than one Batty Hatty.

Actually he is wrong about the sons of camel drivers, they aren't interested in the port. It's the sons of Chiang Kai-Shek I'm more worried about.
Here's the biography of a former camel driver whom I got to know very well during my time working in the Middle East:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulaiman_S._Olayan
A very small man physically (Kathryn used to call him Mr Magoo) but immensely shrewd, he taught me more about business than anyone else I have ever known. At the time of his death he was probably the richest honest man in Saudi Arabia. Not popular with the royals, he hated the bribery and corruption which has always been endemic in the Arab world and used to expose it whenever possible.

Are you sure that he is Mr Wiseman?
Do they vote for him as a person or the party he represents?

I should of guessed he was mr wiseman, similar outlook and stance.
Button pushing online is a troll like quality, particularly if your not using your own name. Go back under the bridge and wait for the clip clop clip clop of some other gullible fool...
Interesting range of opinion in general but I still think the 'stupid' option is a hat bob frost should where.

It's a mistake many people make Jan, voting for their party and electing a joke.
