  In fairness to Sajid Javid, he never said the material would be released. But then he never said it wouldn't be released either. He just used the normal evasive, self-serving language of a regular politician.
  
  But it's a measure both of the state of our democracy and of the political class's view of the electorate that we're considered grown-up enough to have an interest in, e.g., where Al de Pfeffel spent his holiday, or that he's having a child outside marriage, but not in the findings of a major investigation into organised criminal activity.
