Having grown up with the winding gear for the colliery as my first sight every morning, no objections from me to these turbines on the grounds of aesthetics, noise, etc. However, they are only financially viable because they are subsidised using our money and if it wasn't for the subsidy increasing our energy bills no body would build the things, unhappy on that count. Certainly unlikely that an objection so couched would carry any weight in our local planning system. If they were commercially viable without subsidy I'd have no beef with them whatsoever.
Obviously they are so 'green' that we ship blades for the things from Brazil to Europe.
The Brazilians cleared a lovely bit of jungle just outside Fortaleza in order to build a factory or two for their manufacture, clearly a most appropriate use for the extra money that we all spend on our fuel bills

By far the most dangerous man in Britain. No different from the plebs who make up the opposition and most of the tory party in the commons. Deluded freaks who obsess with disaster porn till the next scare comes along.
Freaks.

I saw that and it's nothing we haven't heard before. The climate obsessives are happy to see people die in the name of saving the planet. They care not early death and the plight of the poorer sections of our society. In fact they see it as a good thing that some are killed off for the sake of colder weather which, in their crazed mindset, is a good thing.
As I've said before, freaks, utter freaks.

let's just suppose for a minute that philip's warmists are correct and climate change is caused by man made actvity.
the vast quantity of emissions come from china and india, countries that only recently have risen up the economic scale together with the united states who will do whatever benefits them regardless.
soon countries in africa and south america will start to build their industries and will not be told what to do.
this chap davey wants us to lead the way and set an example to others according to the article - the lemming at the front normally does this.

It was your party that passed the climate change act, Howard.

Measurements over 18°C since 1990 - 17
Measurements over 18°C from 1926 to1990 - 7
But some dubious use of statistics and depending where the measurements were taken (quoted co-ordinates are just inside the Eastern entrance but could be more accurate) does this just reflect the amount of heat being put out by engine cooling of larger and more frequent ferry traffic.

, no David, as I know both you and Charlie quite well, I see my role as keeping you both honest, not competing with you. I've decided which way I shall vote in the euro-elections, but I haven't made up my mind about the general election yet. Anyone who has already made up their mind must have a tribal mindset.

35, correct answer, Howard. I think between now and the GE we shall see polls with a record level of DKs.

I am with Peter regarding the elections. I often wonder why the polls never ask who you would not vote for as I always find that is the easiest answer to give in the run up to any election and might give a more accurate indication of how the voters are leaning.

Peter, Jan and others I'm sure there are plenty thinking like you. I'll repeat what I've said since I was selected 2 months ago, we have a mountain to climb but its interesting that at least we're now in people's minds. You won't have any problem keeping me honest Peter, not everyone will agree with what I say but there'll be no lies or smearing.
Lots can and will happen in the next year, I'm hoping for some positive news in this area which would give us a massive boost locally.
Some interesting discussions on here lately which is good.

Notice what the idiot green Jenny Jones says about all this and who she blames.
Another example of the moronic greenie mindset which blights our world.
Of course that's without mentioning WWF, Greenpeace, RSPB, Oxfam, The church etc. etc. etc.

it's true what jan says, i always vote in general elections for who would do least damage and i suspect i am in the majority.
in local elections i vote for the individual.
