Just looked in again and am astounded about the abuse he is dealing out, Clair and David must be laughing their socks off.
The stuff he posts is beyond the pale.

I've looked at some of the posts Barry has put up on Facebook and frankly I'm at a loss to see anything which is "beyond the pale".
Most of what He writes strikes me as being reasonable in terms of political debate. I find the responses rather awkward and ill thought through as if they were posted from labour HQ.
All harmless stuff in my opinion.
Remember, it's one thing to vote for the labour party, but think about this: Imagine our country being governed by someone like Ed Miliband.
It's truly terrifying. In fact it appalls me.
It would be like having someone like Will Self in charge.
Awful.

I know Barry doesn't suffer fools gladly and I know from past postings on here, that there are very few who know enough about finances and financial investments to make an informed and/or intelligent response. I would guess that's why they all get swept away.
He may sometimes come across somewhat brusque because people respond with emotional drivel, instead of well-informed argument. I don't really know, that's just my thoughts.

A change of strategy from the Blues after recent polls showed narrow leads for the Reds and Ed's personal rating improving after the nasty attack on him.

Don't believe the polls, take Peter's advice and follow the bookies.
I've had Populus call twice this week, first time I told them I was busy, they called me again next day saying we hope you're not too busy now. I decided to string them along and give them a few confusing answers, but after some initial questions they said they couldn't use me as I'm over 65 - now that's either because they realise we're a crafty lot who are too worldly wise to give straight answers, or they were calling at a time when most younger folk would be at work and they'd filled their quota of windups.

The latest odds from the bookies show 4/5 Dave and evens Ed to be next Prime Minister, I have told doorstep canvassers that I am still undecided which is the truth.

Something that has been announced today, is that if the Conservatives win the election outright, the family home will be taken out of the Inheritance Tax calculation.
This is an extract of it:
"There is no more important kind of security than knowing your family is going to be OK financially and that is why the next Conservative Government will take the family home out of inheritance tax.
The home you have worked and saved for belongs to you and your family - you should be able to pass it on to your children and with the Conservatives, you'll be able to pass on up to £1 million per married couple completely tax-free - giving more security to families across the country.
This is part of our plan to build a Britain where those who work hard and do the right thing get rewarded for their efforts".
This was going to be introduced a while ago, but the Lib-dems objected.
As this generally forms the major part of any "normal" person' estate, it must be extremely important to the vast majority of people.

UKIP pledged the same a while back, looks like another attempt to lure back the lost sheep from them.

Conservative manifesto pledge 2010 thwarted by LibDems during coalition.
UKIP can't deliver.
Re-affirmation of policy.

No inheritance tax on a million pound home is not exactly a vote catcher for the vast majority of the home owning population, still I guess a few Londoners and others dotted in affluent areas around the country might be happy.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Indeed we live in "generation rent" when I started out provided both people worked and saved hard and were willing to go without holidays and a car home ownership was a certainty. Young people starting out today have no reasonable chance of getting on the housing ladder. Just to make things worse tenancies can be as little as 6 months, hardly enough time for people to unpack and settle in to their home. Each generation says that the new one is better off than they were, not actually true today.
I never suffered a zero hours contract and when I worked well they paid me more to keep me whilst most young people today have to accept the minimum wage and smile.

If zero hours suit both sides (employee and employer), then they should be allowed to have them, however, I do agree that they are archaic in today's world, but as has been stated here a number of times, there are over 70 labouir councils who use them, so it is very hypocritical to say they will banish them.
At DDC there is no one on minimum wage.

If zero hours suit both sides!!
Ok, let's have a look at the reality Roger.
If you phone up an agency most of the jobs will be zero hours ,except it or no job.
Most low pay jobs will be agency the agencies give business a 60 day credit limit ,so a lot of business are laying of workers to re- employ by agency, the profits are stopped from the workers cut, wage compression
.
Now as soon as the agency employ you, most will get you to enrolled on to a umbrella company, again except it or no job.
Now the umbrella company will demand the worker pay a fee from the worker of around £23 p/w to do the paperwork.
On top of this The worker will have to pay tax, employees national insurance,,, and the agencies national insurance contributions to .
And all this under a labour and conservative government.
and both parties are surprised that worker are telling you to stick your votes.

Both the main parties are in hock to big business so the workers get sidelined, hence the rise of fringe parties like UKIP, greens and the various nationalist parties.

Don't know which agency you're refering to Keith but none I have worked for have taken money from me to register, complete paperwork etc. I have always had NI payed by the agency and myself when earning enough and most of the time I have been payed more than contracted staff, this is experience from specialist teaching, driving and construction agencies, im sure not all agencies are the same but I dont hear tens of thousands of agency staff screaming about it?
