I thought the issue of the passport was very fishy. If the owner had self exploded how did a tiny booklet survive intact? Maybe the original passport holder had it stolen?
Peter, sorry I meant post 59 the current numbers at Calais are nearer 4500.

Post#60 Welcome back Pam.I agree with you and Howard .The passport is fishy. But fake passport can be still used. The identity of one of the murderers was of a person who claimed asylum in Greece. The identity was possible because he was a suicide bomber who blew himself up and left a finger. So finger prints were possible.
Howard, you and I are speculating on numbers in Calais.Would Pam know the exact numbers?

Howard, I have looked at Cllr Ben Banos' Seeking Sanctuary website.According to the website on October 27th there was estimated 5, 000 to 6, 000 migrants at the shanty town in Calais. In September it was 3, 000.
Ben's clients are complaining of police harassment it appears on the 27/10/15.Because 450 French CRS police are permanent ly stationed at Calais and there are round ups, with migrants being flown to detention camps in the South of France. That maybe the reason for the riots early last week.
Now there is a state of emergency in France, the CRS maybe more robust..According to SkyNews this morning , the ringleader came from Syria up through Greece. There is also a possibly of France invoking chapter 5 of the NATO treaty whereby if a NATO country is attacked , other NATO countries come to their aid.It could mean any action under the control of NATO Supreme Headquarters will be in charge. If HQ orders Syria to be bombed, Where will Mr Corbyn and others stand?

I heard about that this morning Peter, hard to believe that a terrorist cell would base itself in a hotel in the main square of Calais. Anyway here is some useless advice on spotting a terrorist.

I am wondering what the local Labour party feel about the' goings on' with Mr Corbyn and Labour MPs at the moment?

I don't think many people know what is going on with the national party they seem to be in total disarray with the leader making decisions on a whim rather than consulting colleagues. The latest is putting Ken Livingston in charge of the defence review knowing that he is against renewing Trident.

Always had you down as a port and stilton type Peter, the port being over 30 years old of course.
