Looking like a "no" vote at this stage, my understanding is that most of the electorate are confused by the claims of both sides and just want to know how their finances will be affected.

There are two sides to look at this.
As for myself I hope they stay within the UK.
We love Scotland and the public that live there we do have family living there to.
And the History behind both them and us must be looked at to.
But for England there would be a big cash saving so I am told about 67million pounds per week or more so it would not be all bad news if they vote yes which they will not .
They need to think very hard with a yes vote already the EU said they will not get membership so they would be out on there own English companys are also up there so they might pull out and what about their Army etc they would have to make them to And that would cost a arm and a leg.
It would be a bad move for both sides but I think they have more to loose than England.

I can't see them voting "yes", not only English companies but also Scottish ones may move south due to future uncertainties like the currency and corporation tax rates.
I cannot see our government giving any new orders to Scotland for warships which would mean large job losses.

You are right they cannot have it always if they want to part from the rest of us then they must do it all and on their own.

I didn't see yesterday's debate but by all accounts Alex Salmond won hands down, whether this will tip the vote to "yes" is very debatable.

Shock waves going through the financial sector due to fears of a "yes" vote although i think enough "yes" people will back down because of cold feet on the day.

Politics aside (if that's possible), I think it would be a great shame and a big loss to everyone, if Scotland voted yes.
The break-up of the United Kingdom would not be good for any of us in so many ways; I do get the feeling that the Yes campaign is gaining momentum because people are thinking with their hearts and not their heads.

The Bank of England has confirmed that they cannot keep the pound, pretty obvious all along I thought, probably have their own Scottish pound that will have less value than sterling

Disinvestment from Britain as it is now or after a Yes vote is nothing compared to what awaits us if and when We get to decide to leave the EU. This will be double suicide and one which will see our nation consigned to history. Not only that the other ramifications are too unbearable to contemplate. A large rise in criminal gangs, sectarianism, social disorder on a massive scale.
Basically the UK will implode. Be careful what you wish for and all that.

Not forgetting the import duty we will have to pay on that Scottish delicacy deep fried mars bars.

The latest poll of polls shows the reds likely to win an overall majority of around 30 next May, but without Scotland they would be a few seats short.
Even if the Scots vote for independence they will still be in the UK until March 2016, makes the situation very complicated.

Will those Scots MPs still be able to stand at the next election, surely they will be 'foreigners' if the Yes vote wins.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Today Dave who is as popular in Scotland as a turd in a bouncy castle went up to Scotland to boost the no vote!!!
Lord Prescott went up and exhorted the hosts to embrace the idea of a joint England/Scotland football team!!!
OK the two above don't live in the real world but surely they have advisers to stop them making fools of themselves.

As a Scot can I say that contrary to what Howard said the Bank of England have Not said, nor can they say, that Scotland cannot use the GBP. He said a currency union would be incompatible with sovereignty. Mind you this does not seem to worry the Germans or the French. A currency union in the event of a yes vote would be best for rUK as well as Scotland.

A currency union requires a single monetary and fiscal authority. This would mean Scotland would not have an independent central bank and its finance ministry would be subservient to the Westminster Treasury. Not what I would call independence.
