I hope the "personal reasons" are nothing really serious.

Huge surprise, he will be missed. I found him to be a breath of fresh air compared to many who had preceded him. He genuinely made a difference.

You never worked with him Keith. He had a different style to Paul or indeed Terry Birkett,Peter Wells and you late brother.Certainly different to Gwadlys Payne. Some credit must go to Paul because he was the driving force for a lot of things which are only just happening in the district.

The most extraordinary news being that for the first time in living memory the Conservative Councillor with the responsibilities of the Leader of the Council is NOT a Mason.
(Which will probably be more than can be said for whoever they put forward for the 'safe seat' of St Margarets!)

I did have the oppirtunity to work with him twice and I can say he made the right noises like a lot of politicians
But making any difference?
That's not to say he's probably a nice enough guy

For God's sake! Barrel has been scraped and the best they can come up with is Trevor Bartlett for Leader. 'Election' next Wed but no-one else has had his hat thrown into the ring.
Trev of course was i/c Property Services during debacle of lease on Sandwich Quay (yes, I have read the confidential report) and the farce that was Deal Pier (until a local councillor kicked up such a stink behind the scenes that stuff was done).
As the Bartlett in Bartlett and White he should be an ideal candidate to line up a load of vegetables and make them vaguely presentable to the public.
