Seems that the Tory party haven't just found the mythical magic money tree, but a whole forest of them. Crazy economic policy at this time. All eyes on the Bank of England which will now have to pull in the complete opposite direction.

Neil
You do a great job for your LOST party that really would at this time be as bad as the present lot in govt.
It's quite embarrassing that a labour leader tells his front bench to stay off picket lines .
That's fine if your playing up to big business etc but that's not really yoyr parties voters .
Starmer has decided like Blair (although I didn't like Blair he was better at it than Starmer )
To disown anything and anyone that's not on the right .
Still expelling labour members locally and nationally
Parachuting in candidates against local members wishes .
That's not a party many would want to support
So whilst we have a very unpopular conservative govt at mo , people have not much more faith in Starmers labour party

This will lose the red wall, Keith. The magic money tree find, of course, applies only to them, not us. The rich get richer. They know they are going to lose the next election, so have taken a massive unfinanced loan and gone off to the casino. Only it's us that has to pay back the loan.

I am unsure about the money plans as a whole but fail to understand how the already fat cats with their huge bonuses will exactly boost the economy, they earn enough already to buy whatever they want whenever they like.
Regardless of whichever party is in power those on a low income be it benefits or wages will continue to struggle as they have always done unless they win the lottery.

They are saying, Jan, that if they make the rich richer, then maybe they spend more and we might just benefit from some of the crumbs that fall from the table and onto the floor. You'll hear it referred to as "trickle down" economics.
The plans amount to an "electoral suicide note". Not my words, they are the words of Dominic Raab!

I'm not convinced your party has taken the people with them
And so because of this the Tories will return .
Although truss isn't a good leader
And looking after the rich is correct
Without winning back the lost seats I'm.not sure how the Tories will lose .
Although when it comes to ballot box most won't vote and this affects labour more than the Tories
Iv listened to Tories when they used to be on the door and they voted Tory even if the candidate was unknown to them !

I'm trying to think who the last true Tory PM was before we got hit with all these 'balance the books' doomsters.
Apparently, according to Ms Rayner though not Mr Starmer, Labour would reverse the planned cut in Income Tax from 20% to 19% (ie. put it back to where it currently is) if they came to power, to which Natalie tweeted "Labour’s solution to tackle the cost of living? Grabbing more in taxes from the pockets of millions of hardworking British people. Same old Labour."

She really is showing her understandable desperation. It's been made quite clear that Labour will not reverse next year's cut in the basic tax rate from 20p to 19p. And in any event, what little help that may bring is eroded entirely by the refusal to raise basic tax thresholds from £12,500 and a 10% rate of inflation.
And now we have sterling plumetting again. How much does she think that will add to people's bills given our dependence on imports?

Ms Rayner is one of those who would find something wrong with any plan from anybody regardless of party unless she thought of it. She really is the most depressing person, sorry but I can not stand her or her whining voice.

A plague on both their houses, neither is fir for purpose any more.
As for the mini-budget/financial statement thingy, it is utter & arrant nonsense that putting more money in the bank accounts/pension/investment schemes of the already obscenely rich will make a blind bit of difference to the economy. What it has done is drive the value of the pound to historic lows and will stifle growth due to imports costing significantly more. If I was a tad more cynical I would suggest the plan was to cripple the economy & country so disaster capitalists could make a killing.

Quite funny if your easily amused
Labour holding a conference in Liverpool
Where it parachuted in a candidate against local members interests
One of the many reasons why Tories will be re-elected

Yes a very clever headline so according to Keith I am easily amused, but we all need a bit of humour with what is going on at the moment.
I am beginning to feel Keith hopes that Labour fail and I always thought he was on the left side of the invisible fence.

Is this all part of a grand plan to get Boris back? Ok, I get that the Tories will always want to make the rich richer as a priority, but to trash your own financial credibility quite so much is odd. Maybe Lizz is being encouraged to pursue deliberately self destructive policies...
