Just listening to the deputy leader of Labour Party. This lady will not persuade Conservatives to vote Labour.
Her views so out dated.

I found that Gary's link did not work , I hope this one does.
That woman Angela Rayner does her party no favours but I would expect nothing less from a woman that I dislike as much as her.

I understand her policy but her presentation does her no favours. Her attitude takes us back years. There will always be a certain amount of envy .I still vote Conservative in a general election ,
Locally the person.gets my vote.
To have traditional Conservative values does not make me as an caring person.I m not rich but I have provided for my family .Now they look after me as I taught them to work and they all got a very good education.I hAd to pay for play school school, meals and bus fares .Pay for household repairs etc .There always has to be people who are bosses and envy of someone who has got on is not a good quality. My god she is on TV again .

God knows! According to Starmer it's wrong to say 'only women have a cervix'.

Just been watching Marr interviewing Starmer. Heard better rationale for policy with Natalie v Charlotte at last GE.
Most political commentators SO much more intellectually ahead of most politicians it's almost frightening.
As the great Frank Zappa said ' politics is rock and roll for ugly people.?
As anyone who reads widely including Economist, FT we've known for years that we're heading for a shortage of HGV drivers, teachers, doctors, energy, housing, etc but the 'great game' is to be elected/ reelected rather than be honest with the electorate who are only worried about cheap stuff arriving immediately (including all of the above).
Classic Starmer. All paid for by 'other' people with 'broad shoulders'.
A man who does not understand the difference between turnover and profit. Or the fact that Amazon (delivery as opposed to cloud computing) has only just moved into profit.
I know humanity's always muddled through but this is getting ridiculous!
Warming up to the idea of the technocrats at Amazon/Google/Netflix taking over.
Stuff we want delivered seamlessly at minimum cost when we want it.
Perhaps they could start with DDC refuse collection (garden waste will obviously take a little longer to sort out because it's SO complicated).
At waterpoint in Congleton. Off for shower. Looking for my cervix.
I may be some time ......

I think Labour is a lost party not really knowing what direction to go .
Starmer appears now to be ineffective and not even have the support of his own party ..
If it moves away from its traditional old areas it loses the support of its more left wing types , but those wanting to replace them do not get out on the streets like the lefties do/did
Also adding into the mix we are seeing heartlands change, and seats normally held by Labour being lost to the Tories because labour hasn't woken up yet that the make up of the seats had changed
At this point in time even with bungling Boris in govt
I can only see labour as an opposition party

Disraeli: 'If Gladstone fell into the Thames, it would be a misfortune. But if someone pulled him out, it would be a calamity'.
Baldwin on Lloyd George: 'He spent his whole life in plastering together the true and the false and therefrom manufacturing the plausible'.
Political invective needs a good education and the intelligence to use it. Rayner, like much of our political class, lacks both. Like being savaged by a dead sheep. (Healey on Howe, of course.)

(At the risk of talking this thread into 'Labour party in turmoil' pt 2 territory.)
The 'kick out the Left' narrative is a pretty obvious sleight of hand to cover the fact that there's simply an exchange of cadres in progress. They're both Left, and they're both 'loony'.

Frightening. Andy Burnham. The best we can do to find someone to run the country.
Still think Amazon/Netflix/Google could take over?
