To celebrate the success of soil improver sale days earlier this year, and to thank residents for the ongoing success of its garden waste collections, Dover District Council, in partnership with Kent County Council, is arranging another special sale event.
The sale is taking place at the Whitfield Household Waste Recycling Centre on Sunday 19 November between 10am and 2pm, while stocks last. Residents will be able to take advantage of a special offer on the soil improver that your green waste is recycled into. A 50 litre bag of soil improver will cost £2 (normally £2.50) or you will be able to buy three bags for £5, up to a maximum of six bags per car.
The event is being held to show residents what their green waste is recycled into and to say thank you for making the collections such a success. Since the scheme began in August 2005, over 3,000 tonnes of green waste has been turned into soil improver.
Mandy Pile, Waste Services Officer at DDC, said: "The event has proved very popular with residents and all previous sales have sold out. It's also a great opportunity for Dover District Council to give something back to residents to say thank you."
