Police investigating an incident in which a 10-year-old boy was bitten by a dog are appealing for the dog owner to come forward.
The boy was bitten by the black and white Jack Russell at Tesco in Whitfield at around 1.50 pm on Sunday afternoon (19 November).
The boy asked the man if he could stroke the dog, and as he was stroking the dog, the dog attacked the boy's face.
The boy was taken to hospital and has had nine stitches to his lip.
The owner of the Jack Russell is asked to contact the Area Crime Management Unit on 01303 289180.
