A special open day to provide information about the White Cliffs Careline, the Council's 24 hour monitoring and alarm service, is being held at the Dover District Council @ Your Service office at Castle Street, Dover on Monday 17 July from 9am to 2pm.
Careline staff will be on hand to demonstrate the lifeline equipment and to answer any questions on the service, which provides emergency support and back up and peace of mind for people in need. The Careline service provides people with a special alarm unit and pendant, which means they can call for help wherever they are in the home or garden. The button on the pendant alerts the Control Centre and means help can be on the way in a matter of minutes. The open day will also feature information on the new Keysafe service, which offers a secure keysafe on the outside of a property, to keep spare keys for family, carers or the emergency services.
Cllr Mrs Sue Nicholas, Cabinet Member for Housing and Community said: "This is a great chance for people to find out more information about this valuable service, which allows people to live in their own surroundings, and helps people to live independently, with peace of mind for them and their families."
