Dover Town Centre Management has announced details of the annual Christmas Lights Switch-On event, taking place on Saturday 25 November. The event is expected to be attended by a capacity crowd of 5,000 plus.
This popular all-day event will start at 11.00am and finish at 4.30pm. Amanda Barry from Coronation Street, with the Mayor will switch on the lights at 4pm.
The Christmas Lights switch-on event will cater for everyone. In the Market Square and outside Gala Bingo you will find kiddies rides, an Army presentation and Gurkha display, 'Win a Mini' competition, the Money Shop Smart Car, the Police, a Kent Fire and Rescue demonstration, The Road show extravaganza, Opera by Miguel Moncloa, together with singers and dancers from local groups and associations.
Local dignitaries, including the Chairman of Dover District Council and the Mayor of Dover and Mayors of neighbouring towns will be in attendance.
The Christmas Lights Switch on Event is sponsored by Dover Town Council, Specsavers, Monique's, P&O Ferries, HSBC, Lloyds TSB Bank and the Park Inn. This event is also supported by Dover District Council, Chapter Eight, Business Computer Solutions, MCL Graphics, McDonalds, MD Leaflets, Effective Communications Group and of course, the people of Dover headed by our own Miss Dover, Rebecca Bushby-Hanson.
