Little Britain star David Walliams has completed his Channel swim in 10 hours 30 minutes.
The comedian, who is 34, set off at 5.34am this morning from Shakespeare Beach, and landed at Cap Gris Nez at 4.04pm this afternoon. His crossing time is the fastest solo swim so far this year. Mr Walliams hopes to raise £500,000 for Sport Relief.
Before starting the swim, he received a phone call from collegaue Matt Lucas wishing him well for the attempt. Seeing him off from Dover were Mr Walliams' parents, who also travelled to France to watch him finish.
