As the festive season draws near and winter nights and darker mornings draw in, Dover District Council's Community Safety Unit is reminding people to set a shining example and make sure they can be seen on the roads in the dark or in fading light. This follows a number of concerns from the public about the visibility of young people delivering newspapers in the early hours.
Cllr Mrs Julie Rook, DDC Cabinet Member for Citizenship said: "It is always important to safeguard our community. Having had this brought to our attention, can we remind everyone to be careful on the roads, including those delivering papers, and remind newsagents that they should ensure deliverers can be seen with proper lights and reflective gear."
