Dover Castle has won a top award.
Presented by the Heritage Education Trust, the Sandford Award recognises outstanding facilities, workshops and tours for visiting school groups, and praised English Heritage's inspiring education tours, high-quality facilities and insightful staff.
Dover Castle offers everything from a hands-on education centre complete with costumes and artefacts, to atmospheric tours of the secret underground tunnels for Key Stage 1 upwards.
The judges said: "Dover Castle in its magnificent setting offers an excellent educational experience for children of all ages and abilities."
English Heritage's Education Manager for the South East, Michael Newman-Horwell, commented: "We are honoured to receive this accolade.
