A fantastic free outdoor cinema event is keeping things cool at Connaught Park this summer - with a special outdoor showing on Friday 25 August of the animated blockbuster Ice Age 2.
The event is being organised by Dover District Council and gates will open at 7pm. Entry is by ticket only and the film will start around sunset, which should be between 8.15pm and 8.30 pm. Visitors are welcome to bring picnics and there will be catering concessions at the event. There will be free parking in the town's car parks after 5pm, and Stagecoach will be running a bus service to and from the event from Pencester Road from 7pm to 7.45pm and from 9.40pm to around 10.30pm, for a small charge.
A limited number of free tickets can be collected from DDC Area Offices and the main Council offices at Whitfield, with a maximum of 5 tickets per person. You must provide proof of being a district resident and be over 18 years of age to collect a ticket. If you do not have a ticket, you will not be able to attend the event. Tickets are available from 25 July.
Cllr Mrs Sue Nicholas, Cabinet Member for Community, said: "This looks set to be a really exciting evening, which will help to bring our communities together in the beautiful setting of Connaught Park. The event is being supported by local businesses, and we thank everyone who has worked so hard to bring this all together."
