Work is due to start tomorrow (Tuesday) on clearing some of the overgrown areas at Connaught Park, Dover.
A team of workmen will spend up to 10 days opening up some of the views which have been lost over the years because of trees and shrubs which have got out of control.
The workmen will also deal with an infestation of rats.
The area being focused on is at the rear of the pond, behind the pathway adjacent to the pond, below the tennis courts and around the five-a-side football pitch.
Council officials say that self-sown trees will be removed, and others will be cut back, with the lower branches removed to open up the views across the park.
The park was opened 123 years ago.
